ArrowLine® Shake Steel Roofing

A four-side interlocking steel shingle with a hand-split shake look. PVDF finish, Class 4 impact, 3/12 minimum pitch.

How I think about this one

This is the panel I reach for when a homeowner wants the look of a shake roof and has had enough of replacing real ones. The interlock is what I trust: it keeps water out at the surface, so the roof is not living on its underlayment. It needs 3/12 or steeper and a crew that has done it before.

What it costs, and why

Installed, most ArrowLine® Shake Steel Roofing roofs we put on land between $1,250–$1,700 per square. A square is 100 square feet of roof, and that figure includes tearing off one layer of shingles.

Where yours lands depends on the roof more than the product. A second layer to tear off, soft decking we only find once the old roof is open, a steep pitch, and a lot of valleys, dormers, chimneys and skylights all push it up. A simple, walkable roof with one layer sits near the low end.

This is a range, not a quote. I would not give you a real number without seeing the roof, and I would be careful with anyone who does. If the up-front number is the whole question, how a metal roof costs out over thirty years is the better place to start.

Installed price per square in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan, last reviewed 2026-09-28.
