Sherwin-Williams Coil & Extrusion Coatings · Paint Systems & Coil Coatings
WeatherXL
Sherwin-Williams' silicone-modified polyester (SMP) coil coating for roof panels — one of the two finishes we buy. AAMA 2604.
How I think about this one
This is the Sherwin-Williams coating we actually buy. It goes on exposed-fastener and standing seam panels, and it is the direct counterpart to AkzoNobel's Ceram-A-Star 1050 — either one is a fair finish for a house. Read the chalk and fade numbers in the warranty and compare them against whatever else you are quoted.
What Sherwin-Williams Coil & Extrusion Coatings says about it
For extreme conditions, our silicone-modified polyester (SMP) formula means stronger protection, more durability, and better metal paint endurance.
